FOTD/OOTD – Nepali Dinner

Hi everyone! :)

I’d planned to write this post on Sunday, but alas I was booked to see the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special on the big screen! It was great; if you have ever watched and liked Doctor Who I recommend you see it!

I don’t do this type of post often, a Face Of The Day (FOTD)/Outfit Of The Day (OOTD) but thought it’d be a good way of showing off one of my USA purchases as well as a dress I am curently loving (I am not really into dresses but this one is an exception).

Let’s get started!

The weather is meant to be nice and warm at this time of  year in Adelaide, and it is today, but on Saturday it was blustery and generally out of sorts. So I dressed in layers and decided to give this lovely Wet N Wild pallette, Comfort Zone, a whirl (fellow Aussies, you can get this online at for $14.95):

Swatched in natural lighting, with one sweep only. These are lovely and pigmented, and I did not experience any creasing on the night. Very impressed!

First, the chocolate shades (L side of palette, top to bottom) and then what I call the green side :) ~

Ooh yes I knew that after swatching these I HAD to wear the green!

This is the look I came up with, using the L Browbone, R Eyelid and R Crease shades (don’t you just love how WnW label the colours?! :)) ~

I am already in love with this palette. As I bought it in the US I did get it for quite a good price (around $8, from memory) but nevertheless this is worth the markup if you like foresty colours and are wanting pigmented product. You can get a bit of fallout when applying these shadows, but after finishing the job it was fine.

Beautiful Rating:  10/10 – quality 5/5, value 5/5. No complaints!

Now, you already have a bit of a clue, but what was I wearing?

DressIron Fist - I can’t get enough of this design and I thought it was perfect for the gloomy day outside:

iron fist dressShoesConverse (kind of). I say that as I bought these in Hanoi, Vietnam, in 2010! Sometimes I think about buying a pair of platform ones – the strawberry design in particular – but then I wonder if I am too old to pull it off?

I had fun putting this look together, and hanging out with my friends. Unfortunately the dinner itself wasn’t that great – I won’t name and shame the restaurant  – however I am not put off and would love to hear any and all suggestions for where to go to eat good Nepali food in Australia! :)

What are your thoughts on Comfort Zone?

Does anything take your fancy here?

Am I too old to be wearing Chucks?
(I believe one is never too old – or too young! – but hey I am thinking about those platforms… ;) they are not cheap!)

The palette looks amazing Sarah! Love the greens in it, and love the print on your dress. Should’ve taken a full shot of you in it! Anyway, to answer your question….nope never too old for a pair of chucks! Hello! I’m way older than you are and I still wear it! ;)

Hi Norlin! Yeah this palette is really pretty, it is worth the markup to order in here! Ahhh that is reassuring to hear that you think it is ok :)

Really cute. I have that WnW palette and I don’t use it nearly enough! Really should drag it out. x

Personally I would go for the platforms – never too old, lol! I don’t have that exact Wet n Wild palette but most of their eyeshadows are quite good for the price. I would have reached for the green first too, heh.

Hi Rebecca! Yay I like your answer! :) Yes I think the WnW stuff is excellent value, the green is my fave shade out of this palette I think, at least, so far! Happy Thanksgiving! :)

Thank you so much, Amy! Yeah, me too, would make life easier. However if you go to that site that I mention in the post you can pick them up through an Aussie online retailer. There is a markup but I think it is still worth it; the only trouble is ordering online = no testers! :(

Wow I love those shades! Beautiful palette and great to hear it’s good quality too at such a reasonable price. You did an amazing look using the green. The strawberry platforms sound super cute. They’d look great on you :D

I have that palette it is very versatile but sometimes I forget how dark the crease and definer colours are and get a bit carried away!

Oh and btw – no one is ever too old to wear Converse!

Hi Annabella, thanks for stopping by! :)

Yeah I know what you mean, especially given Wet n Wild shadows are so pigmented – I have gotten into trouble with the (smaller) Silent Treatment palette before too! :D

Yeeeey I am glad that it seems unaminous that Converse = cool at any age! xxx
