FOTD (Face Of The Day) & my short hiatus

Hello everyone! I hope your weekend has been going great! :)

On my end things have been a bit of a blur, I have had a lot of stuff to sort out before I go to Melbourne on a lil holiday… and am worried I won’t get it all done! :S I am away for about a week, so during that time the blog will be quiet. It’s good to take a break now and again as I find that I come back refreshed and with new ideas!

Upon my return, I have an Empties/Newbies, new Australian certified organic makeup range, and Aveeno posts planned, so there will be quite a bit of variety coming your way! I’ll also tell you more about my trip. :)

Before I go I’d like to share with you my FOTD (Face Of The Day) for today. I’m no makeup artist but I am quite happy with what I have created here, because I don’t wear colourful makeup very often (I tend to think it either a) makes me look old or b) makes me look like a member of ABBA lol!). I decided to create this look as I am going to see a friend’s Fringe (Adelaide Fringe Festival) show which is quite colourful and fun. :)

I have created the eye look – minus mascara & eyeliner – with Vani-T Mineral Colour Crystal eyeshadows. No filters on here so be kind haha!

It is very humid here at the moment and my hair is going nutz! :(

Vani-T shadows used:

  • Pisces Blue*
  • Be My Valentine*
  • Grape Parfait*
  • Peacock Blue*

Blend blend blend! I added Dolly Wink liquid liner in Black to give a bit more definition (reviewed here). Mascara* is from Eye of Horus (previously reviewed here).

On my face I have used CoverGirl liquid makeup in Ivory topped with Prestige Cosmetics‘ Skin Loving Minerals powder in Light (has been featured TONS of times haha) and Vani-T Mineral Blush in Gelati*. The lippie is Face Of Australia‘s Lip Quench in Pink Champagne.

I have also previously done a detailed review on Vani-T cosmetics (here); the range of eyeshadow colours available is really amazing and there are currently 40 (yes, 40!!!) shades. You can check the shades out – and purchase any you’re keen on -  here.

What do you think about brightly coloured makeup for day wear? Yay or nay?

Hi Kate thanks very much! :) I think Kira-Lea has something organised with them for a future ABBM brand meet, but in the meantime I could bring some of what I have to the High Tea event so people can have a look at them & try out. They do body and hair products too which I’m yet to try!

I love wearing bright colours. Just yesterday I had primary colours for my eye make-up. :P I really like this look. Very summery. I third the Paddle Pop comment. Hehe. L

Thanks Bethany! Oh that sounds really interesting, using primary colours. You should do a blog post on it (if you haven’t already!)! :)
