6 is my lucky number, and 2+0+1+3 = 6, so I am excited! (Yep I’m also onto my second strong coffee so I’m buzzing from all the caffeine!

I hope you had a fun New Year’s Eve?
NYE as I like to call it can be a bit overrated at times, in my opinion, but I always like to celebrate it in some way. Most years I attend a house party, as getting a taxi or public transport home from the city or the beach can be really difficult on 1st Jan due to the sheer number of people out and about! However, this year Mr R and I were invited to a party at the last minute which was being held in the city… (In the end, the party did not eventuate and we ended up counting down at home with some friends, but that is another (long!) story LOL! At least we were able to have a nice meal out, get dressed up, and have a few drinks at a nearby bar! )
It was a “Las Vegas” theme and so I madly rushed through my wardrobes (I’m a clothing hoarder!) to try and find something suitable. I decided to go for a “retired cabaret singer” look (the retired bit will make sense in a minute!).
It meant I was able to wear my vintage (1980s) Cue dress! Cue is an Australian clothing company who is renowned for the quality of the tailoring in their dresses but also their jackets and suiting.
The fluffy thing in my arms is not my dog Bonnie – it’s a handbag that is meant to look like a dog! I received a lot of comments about that… Unfortunately this included random people barking at me (!) lol!
Ugh my hair was not really behaving last night – I am trying to grow it out a bit more and the layers at the back have proved to be very annoying to grow out! :S

This fascinator was attached to a discreet black head band – I bought it a while ago at Harris Scarfe for approx. $4 (on sale)!

We headed to Middleton where our friends had hired a beach house. We had a ball with friends and a whole heap of teenagers! I am feeling rather tired now after getting home after 2am and then not sleeping at all well. This old girl is not used to late nights!
