Hello hello! Initially this was going to be the introduction to a review post I have planned, but it became far too long, so I’ve decided to split them in two! (You’ll thank me for this later; it was fast becoming a book! lol
)
I tried to write as much of this on the plane home as I could because I will have a lot of stuff to work out before I return to work tomorrow. Speaking of working out, I have my first ever session with a personal trainer at the gym tomorrow – it’s going to be interesting! Over time I want to improve my fitness, reincorporate exercise as part of my stress management plan (haha as I’m a stress head!), and tone up a bit.
For those of you who read the blog regularly or follow me on Twitter, Instagram and/or Facebook, you would be aware that I’ve spent the past few days in Queensland. I travelled up with my Mum as we were visiting family – my Aunt has been quite unwell and her grandchild has been too! Unfortunately we did not get a chance to catch up with the baby (whose Mum is Japanese – that was going to be my Japanese speaking opportunity hehe!) but were able to spend a full day with my Aunt and Uncle up on the Sunshine Coast, which was a lot of fun.
We also had time to explore Brisbane a bit which was great.
We did a lot of walking and that was a real workout, as it is a steep and hilly city! (In comparison, Adelaide is on a plain and flat as a pancake!) I enjoyed the city’s busy but relaxed atmosphere and excellent public transport… There is so much to do and it is easy to use public transport to get you where you want to go at any time. I hope to visit again sometime soon with Mr R and my friends!
(By chance, our local AFL/Aussie Rules team the Crows were playing in Brisbane this weekend and we were all on the same flight home! It was a quiet trip, however, as they lost to the Lions by 10 points.
For an AFL game, 10 points is a close result but still a loss! They also ate all the in flight banana bread snacks, darn it!)
The template that I use for the blog lets me create image galleries, so I’ll try and put one together now with a few of the Brisbane pics… Here we go! =NOPE sorry WordPress spat the dummy so I’ve just had to put them in the boring old school way – sorry people! = You might wonder why I included a shot of Starbucks – we don’t have a Starbucks in Adelaide. We had one outlet in the CBD a few years ago but despite it always being busy it closed, as reportedly the profits weren’t as big as the head honchos at Starbucks had wanted. Such a shame… Consequently I always have at least one Starbucks coffee when I’m interstate or overseas. Can’t say they’re the best coffee but it’s the novelty value for me!)

The 1st of September is the Adelaide Beauty Conference - I can’t wait and found a really great item when in Brissie that will be part of my outfit! (Well, I hope, as only large sizes were left and I have to take it to an alterations place to get it resized… This particular store had no size Small left in anything, actually, which was frustrating… It was for the best though as I think I could’ve bought way more if my size was available!
)
Due to having to get back into the swing of full-time work, and adjusting to a new routine at the gym, there will only be a Thursday night post this week. As of Sunday next week, I’ll resume my usual Sun/Tues/Thurs pattern.
Also, for those on Twitter, please note that I am now switching from my old #fm #FollowMonday shoutouts to the more popular #ff #FollowFriday. This is due to changes with my work, so look out for my shoutouts on Fridays from now on.
I hope you all have a great week ahead and you’ll hear from me again on Thursday!

I believe there is a starbucks in Queens plaza in the city, near the Adelaide street entrance.
Hi Alison yes there is, that’s where I went!
Ironic it’s near “Adelaide” Street, as SA has 0 Starbucks outlets!
