A lovely surprise from Lost in Omo! featuring Dolly Wink

Hello hello hello! :) Yes, this is a scheduled post… So I’m kinda talking to myself and you all in the future… From the past… Hmm OK that just sounds too weird! Anyhow I do hope that beyond the space/time continuum I have managed to avoid any tummy bugs in Bali! When I was previously in South East Asia I didn’t get sick till around week 3 so I’m hoping that as this trip is shorter I’ll be OK! ;) It’s challenging when travelling to such areas because you want to try local and authentic food but at the same time you have to be a lot more careful than at home. Having said that, what set me off when I was in Cambodia? Steak at the most expensive restaurant we visited on the entire trip! (Uh huh, Murphy’s Law.) Or maybe it was the raspberry mojitos I had there? Mmm, raspberries!

Recently I engaged in a blogger swap with the groovy Marti from Lost in Omo! I sent her a package of K and J-Dramas (yep a part of that bargain Morning Glory sale – the staff started to recognise me by that stage lol as I’d been there so often!), and she sent me some beauty goodies in return… But WOH! There were a LOT of goodies! :D

As you can see, I was really spoilt…

A ginourmous parcel arrived… (the photo doesn’t do it justice unfortunately!)

… which contained all this! :)

A cute DKNY tote bag :) … and a nice letter from Marti

!!!! :D

Reviews of many of these products will be coming soon! I was particularly excited (hey, don’t laugh ;) ) to receive some products from Japanese discount giant Daiso as we don’t have an outlet in Adelaide. I think we should have an outlet, however, as I am confident it would be busy all the time (after all we have an IKEA!). The facial mist, eyeshadow, nail files and cute around the house socks in Marti’s package were all from Daiso!

I also was excited to see something from Korean brand Skin Food in there, as I’ve heard a lot about them but am yet to try any of their products! :) It is a Peach Sake face powder, yummo!

In the meantime, I can say that I am now officially a convert to Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner. I have read so many great reviews about it but don’t wear liquid eyeliner often; my trusty Face of Australia one has been with me for ages and I haven’t had the urge to buy anything else! (FoA‘s is a great product too and good for those of you who are in Australia and prefer to buy cosmetics in person rather than online.)

Check out how fine the tip is on this beauty:

I used this for my liner during the AVCon weekend and it was brilliant! It did not smudge or budge all day but came off easily with eye makeup remover. The colour is a strong and deep black and you can achieve amazingly fine lines with it. Much finer than the FoA product. If you are just starting out with liquid liner, go for the Dolly Wink as you can achieve a great look more easily.

For those of us in Australia I believe we’d need to pick this up online. I’d try eBay or online stores like yesstyle.com.au, or sasa.com. The packaging says the Japanese RRP is 1200 yen = $14.58 AUD using today’s currency exchange rate, which is a good price when comparing to other products on the Australian market.

Beautiful rating 10/10 – quality 5/5, value 5/5.

Thank you Marti! x

Have you tried the iconic Dolly Wink Liner? Or any other Dolly Wink products? I’m curious about their eyelash range!

Yay!! I feel a bit greedy, though – we have three Daisos now, and two are super convenient. If you want me to go grab you anything, just holla! (as if I need an excuse, but still ;)

Hope you’re sopping up the Bali rays and looking forward to your return :)

Oh you’re so lucky! :) thanks I’ll keep that in mind but have to go on a self imposed “no buy” for a lil while post hols! Haha I’ve mostly been watching the waves from a shady spot because I tan BUT when the tan fades I am left with permanent freckles etc! The weather has been a nice change… I wish our summers were more like this (ADL has a much drier and roasting heat in the summer!). :)

Oh my gosh this looks like the best care package ever with all of that cute packaging! I haven’t tried Dolly Wink but it sounds like the eyeliner is a winner :) .

Hi Tina it was! :) I was a lucky duck and I know that Marti appreciated the DVDs (as they were a super duper bargain, rare over here!)! :) Having now tried the Dolly Wink liner I would go as far to say it is the BEST budget liquid liner that I have ever tried! (Given the Aussie market/pricing my definition of budget is < $20 AUD ;) )
