Good evening everyone! How is the weather where you are? Here in Adelaide it is winter and whilst I prefer winter to summer here, the cold impacts on things…. Like my level of motivation to walk my dog (as during weekdays I usually have to take her at night time when it is much colder!)! However, as she loves walks so much I take her anyways.
Here she is in one of her winter coats!

I have now had the pleasure of trying a few of the masks from the My Beauty Diary range and this is my favourite so far (don’t worry, I will be posting reviews of each one that I’ve tried in due course
). The Chocolate Truffle sheet mask is designed to:
moisturizing & softening the face in a 20-minute treatment
Price: approximately $12 USD for a pack of 10.
Where can I get it? For Australians your best bet is online, for example via sasa.com
As soon as you open the packet you know you’re in for a treat. I could smell a notable but not overpowering smell of rich chocolate syrup – yummy!
This scent dissipates once you have it on your face, so it is quite pleasant.
This mask range is developed in Taiwan and so, understandably, they are targeting an Asian market. As such I found that the sheet was not the greatest fit for my Caucasian features. It didn’t cover my nose well and was a little small (claustrophobic!) around my eyes. However, this is easily fixed with some careful adjusting of the mask, and there is so much serum that you can apply it to areas not covered by the mask.
This is the plastic backing sheet attached to the mask, which is something I haven’t seen in other mask ranges that I’ve tried. This also gives you a bit of an idea of the mask’s shape:
The mask sheet has an extremely fine texture and it is very light on the skin. The My Beauty Diary mask sheets have the BEST texture that I’ve tried in a sheet mask to date.
So, how did it perform?
My skin is combinaton to oily and heading towards 30 years of age. I found that on my skin it had a moisturising effect but did not notably soften anything. When I read “softening” I assume that this refers to moisturising or reducing appearance of fine lines, so as “moisturizing” was already mentioned I assume they are talking about lines. I am starting to get fine lines near my eyes which are not obvious to others but I can see them! The mask did not have any effect on these. (As I’ve only used this product once, it may be necessary to use it on a more regular basis to fairly evaluate the softening claims.)
I would recommend this product to those with normal to oily skin, as it does not over hydrate. There was a lot of excess serum after I removed the mask which I gently tissued off; if you have dry skin you may wish to massage this in.
I would purchase these for use as a pick-me-up, general moisturising mask.
Beautiful rating: 8/10: quality 4/5, value 4/5 (had to take 1 point off each aspect due to softening aspect!).

Ok after writing that I now feel like some chocolate – but I want to be healthy – OK I’ll just have to drool over this photo then!
I take no responsibility for any chocolate cravings this review may generate!
Have you tried this mask? What are your thoughts?
