Yay it’s Sunday! Love waking up knowing it is the weekend…. Also in Australia, every Sunday morning a national TV network (SBS) has a music video program devoted to Asian pop – SBS Pop Asia. I enjoy watching it as it is entertaining but also helps me with my Nihongo (Japanese). However, mostly K-Pop songs are played. They have a digital radio station and iPod/Pad apps which you can access from anywhere in the world – check it out at sbs.com.au/popasia
Here’s an excerpt of their live radio show (hehe a chance to check out some Aussie accents!):
Now yes this is meant to be a “5 minute review”, so I’d better get onto it!
The lovely folks at Australis sent me this earlier in the year. Australis is a well established and popular drugstore cosmetics brand in Australia, with a wide range of products available. The finishing powder retails at $12.95 AUD and can be found at Priceline, many chemists, and most discount department stores.
It is “true translucent” so is colour free and great to use when you simply want to control oil or shine rather than add extra layers of makeup.
I’ve now had the chance to try this on a number of occasions, day and night, and in different weather conditions. I really like it! It performs well and it is so light that I don’t even notice it on my skin. This is likely to be because it is so finely milled, as you might be able to see in the photos. (I tried to capture this aspect of the product but it wasn’t easy even on my DSLR!)
The only thing to be mindful of is that you must apply it lightly. As it is translucent rather than a skin toned powder, it is not designed to provide coverage. If coverage is what you need make sure you are happy with your concealer/foundation/BB application prior to applying the powder.
Beautiful rating 10/10: quality 5/5, value 5/5.
Do you use Australis products? What is your favourite product in their range?
