Wow I can’t believe it’s Sunday night already! It’s been a busy weekend and I am glad to be rugged up at home in my comfy round-the-house clothes… In Adelaide it’s now winter so cue the hot chocolates and hoodies!
I actually have some empties for the month of April that are worth reporting on, which include my favourite face powder of all time and favourite face sheet masks of all time.
Behold, the empties!
Ok yes I don’t have just cosmetic or beauty products in here… Let’s mix it up a little!
From L to R…
Skinvitals H-Revive Cloth Facial Treatment Masks > You can pick up these beauties in packs of 3 at your local Priceline for approx. $11 AUD. I go for the H-Revive as it is nice and moisturising, but Skinvitals also have a Vitamin C, whitening, and range of other masks in their range. They are high quality, with plenty of serum in each mask pack. I’ve been buying these regularly for over a year now and have never been disappointed. Beautiful Rating 10/10: quality 5/5, value 5/5.
So you can get a better look at these, to be able to easily recognise them when shopping, here’s a close up pic:
Kinder Bueno > yummy chocolate which I ate whilst setting up the other items to photograph haha!
Prestige Skin Loving Minerals in Light > I’ve probably raved about this before but I find it never lets me down. I keep buying it again and again, over 2 years after first trying it. It doesn’t look cakey but keeps my skin shine free almost all day – if going from work to a night out somewhere I just do a light touch up on the t-zone and am ready to roll! You can vary the coverage depending on how much you apply (using a powder or kabuki brush) and actually also Priceline is the best place to find it, where they often have discount or bonus product deals on it (e.g. spend X and get a free Y). RRP $27.95 AUD. Beautiful rating 10/10: quality 5/5, value 5/5.
Haruki Murakami’s 1Q84 > It’s a saga but well worth the read if you are into stories about alternate realities and parallel worlds. I’ve talked about this book before but have only just finished it, almost 5 months after receiving it! As it was such a long book I have had breaks from it here and there, but only because I’ve had a lot of other (work) books to read.
Garnier Minerals InvisiCalm deodorant > Really happy with this one and have repurchased. Very similar to another deodorant in their range which I have reviewed here. I often am able to get it at Coles supermarkets when it’s on sale for 1/2 price (therefore costing me ~ $2.50 AUD/can). Beautiful rating 9/10: quality 4/5 (I don’t believe it’d really last 48 hours!), value 5/5.
Yes to Carrots Soothing hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes > I usually go for Johnson & Johnson’s wipes but tried these when they were on sale for ~$5 AUD at my local Coles supermarket. They are worth the money and are refreshing with a lovely mild cucumber scent. You also get more in a pack (30). They leave your face feeling clean but without any residue, which the Johnson & Johnson’s ones do tend to leave a bit of. I will repurchase these! Beautiful rating 8/10: quality 5/5, value 3/5 (average as these are a bit on the pricey side for supermarket wipes!).

Which beauty or cosmetic products do you keep buying again and again?

ooh i am so procrastinating by posting first! but…
i love the garnier roll-on, its my favourite but at the moment i have a funny skin reaction so am using a mineral deodorant from bodyshop. its not really up to the task out here, i am a very active person! cant wait to go back to garnier.
also, with my oily skin my fave makeup is MAC, however i have come around to mineral makeup and would like to have more of a play sometime with some products.
i have changed up a few things in the last few months, but it looks like Tresemme Low Sulphate shampoo and conditioner is my new go-to hair product! and Sukin's body wash is amazing, i will be buying more of that! ANNDD lastly, Natio's antioxidant moisturiser is DIVINE. i have been using VERY EXPENSIVE beauty products for years and am trying to swap out with cheaper stuff, if i can. It seems to be doing the job and I love the feel of it. not too heavy or light.
Ah I’ll have to try some of those products out, Anna! I haven’t tried much Natio but I’ve heard a lot of good stuff about that brand. I think it’s a matter of experimenting, as you are doing, and seeing what works. With the mineral stuff I find it very good for face powder and blush. Keep in mind that I still have foundation or BB cream on underneath – if just using the mineral powder alone on most faces it will just wear off as the day goes by!
oooooh great post! I want those wipes now haha xx
Thanks!
Yeah they are surprisingly good. The only thing of course, with wipes, is to remember they are the first step in cleansing – i.e. it won’t get all the makeup dirt etc off. (I wish they would be able to do all steps though, would make life easier LOL!)
I liked 1Q84 a lot as did Stu. Bit of a tour de force but I read it pretty quickly in the end.
Hi Rach I liked it but it was not my favourite of his books. My all time fave of his is \”After Dark\”, with \”Dance Dance Dance\” a close second!
I have oily skin and the mineral makeup I love is Mineral Hygienics. I like to use JJ to clean my face thou . But this is a very good blog . I will be coming back to look at more of your post. If you would email mewhen you have a new post.
